The base from office chair at work that was in the garbage(the seat back was broken) , the wood was scrap that was sitting by the chop saw. The bolts, & nuts only set me back $1.80, next is some hooks on the side for wrenches to hang off.

I often consider one of those rolling seats that’s only like a foot off the ground, this looks like it’s pretty high for that sort of use, though.

It’s a comfortable height for me.

Ugh. I keep telling my boss that low seating is hip. But nooooooo, “we make furniture for old people with money Slant6. We have to make f urniture that people will actually buy”.
Capitalism is broken.

I have one of those. It’s too low for me, but my kids use it when they’re out in the garage with me. I just got one of those pneu matic rolly stools for Harbor Freight. The extra 3-4" of heig ht make all the difference for me.

I find those great when waxing cars or doing brake jobs. saves my back and ankles.

I think it would be good for that sort of thing, where you’re working too high to just sit on the ground, but too low to stand or be in a chair. Kneeling gets old.

what just a darn minute - that’s just a 2 x 12 bolted to the bottom half of an office chair!

I built my own shop stool out of the base of a sunglasses rack that I saved from the dumpster when I worked at a gas station.

This is this kind of genius that I’m not convinced most kids these days, could see.
You’re a hero.

Yup, super easy to design.
